Mairin IV was a small indulgence on my part. While it kept to the spirit of the use case it did deviate from the general concept as the client envisioned. It garnered strong reaction both ways, pro and con; though I figured that likely to be so.

In some respects, its hull form resembles Mairin I, with hard chines, flare forward, and a skeg protected inboard shaft drive.  Instead of tumblehome aft, the flare is carried through to the transom. In the cockpit, the forward seat is replaced by a small cuddy cabin capable of keeping gear (or groceries ) dry, or tools and valuables somewhat secure. I had a secondary vision of this making a decent service boat for a marina with the cuddy cabin providing space for tools and equipment.

Like the other boats of the series, woodstrip – epoxy/glass is the specified construction method.

The inboard diesel engine such as the Yanmar 4LV  is tucked underneath the forward console. with added stowage located in the leaning post locker space.
